my favorite poem

Hai zi’s ture name is Zha Haisheng, he was the one of the most famous poets in Mainland China after the Cultural Revolution. I like the artistic conception in this poem. The sea can be a symbol by freedom and contain. Hai zi was looked forward for freedom also the power of contain by ocean. Hai zi uses spring blossoms to express the hopeful, also use the word “traveling around the word” to express he need to be free. And I think Hai zi putted some contradictory mind in his poem, such as the beginning sentence: “From tomorrow on.” That mean Hai zi didn’t get real love yet, he just dreamed for his future. Although he knew his life will never become this perfectly, he still asserted his hoping how wonderful they are. I believe everyone have own wonderful dreaming, and some of them will never become true, that also it the most perfectly part in people’s mind.

From tomorrow on,

I will be a happy man;

Grooming, chopping,

and traveling all over the world.



From tomorrow on,

I will care foodstuff and vegetable,

Living in a house towards the sea,

with spring blossoms.



From tomorrow on,

write to each of my dear ones,

Telling them of my happiness,

What the lightening of happiness has told me,

I will spread it to each of them.

Give a warm name for every river and every mountain, Strangers, I will also wish you happy. May you have a brilliant future! May you lovers eventually become spouse! May you enjoy happiness in this earthly world! I only wish to face the sea, with spring blossoms.
